The Samsung V70 gives you powerful 15x zoom, 7.0-megapixels, crisp MPEG-4 movie clips with audio, and the ability to print without a PC. A customizable menu enables you to standardize the camera options that you use most, while its high-precision lens provides you with accurate focus control that captures images as close as 1.6 inches. It also has a built-in rotational (270-degree) LCD screen, which means you can capture great shots from creative angles and adjust the screen for better visibility in bright conditions.
With nine acceptable power sources you never have to worry about your Digimax running out of power, and you can take 440 images on one charge. Ten types of scene modes (like close-up, sunset, beach and snow, and more) provide you with extra image opportunities not offered by many other cameras. The useful text mode lets you shoot documents like books, magazines, and newspapers, save them as an image file, and then convert them to text or .doc files using the Digimax Reader Software.

By mounting the optional Wide Angle Conversion and/or Tele Conversion lens with lens adapter, your picture-taking opportunities become even more amazing. You can get shots as close as 1-inch with the Wide lens and a total zoom capability of 25x when using the tele lens combined with the V70's digital zoom.

The camera also offers multiple language support, a menu for you to set your color preferences in each shot, and a quicker transfer to print your images. This camera is even a handy camcorder. The MPEG-4 compression gives you an hour of video and audio recording time when using a 256 MB memory card.

270-degree Rotating 2.0-inch TFT LCD Monitor
The Digimax V70 has a large built-in rotational 2.0-inch (117,000 pixel) TFT LCD screen. The LCD screen may be rotated up to 270 degrees, enabling users to photograph themselves or to capture low-positioned subjects when holding the camera up high. Also, the screen can be rotated to adjust the LCD visibility when outdoors with bright light conditions.

7.0-Megapixel Digital Camera
The Digimax V70 has a built-in 7.0-megapixel, high-resolution CCD and uses advanced image processing technology to produce rich but natural color tones. In addition, the Digimax V70 has a 3x optical and 5x digital zoom, providing 15x total zoom when combined.

MPEG-4, VGA-Class 30 Frame-Per-Second Movie Clip with Sound: Superior Quality and Longer Recording Time
The Digimax V70 supports MPEG-4, a high-compression, high-quality movie clip file format that can record up to 4 or 6 times longer than MJPEG, the usual format for DSC movie clips. The Digimax V70 can even be used as a camcorder since it supports more than one hour of video and audio recording time if you are using a 256 MB memory card. It also processes up to 30 frames per second in bigger size(610 x 450) than QVGA (320 x 240), enabling playback on television. The length of the clip is only restricted by the amount of memory available.

Enhanced and Powerful Manual Shooting
The Digimax V70 provides a manual picture-taking function, especially useful for professional users. The camera supports detailed focus control with Manual Focusing. It also supports manually controlled exposures using Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Manual options. Specifically, exposure may be controlled by the easy to use Jog Dial in conjunction with an AE Lock function.

Different Power Sources
The Digimax V70 supports no less than nine kinds of power sources, including AA Alkaline, AA Lithium, CR-V3, and rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, as well as a dedicated Li-ion battery. You are free to take pictures whenever and wherever you'd like without having to worry about running out of power and missing out on a perfect photo opportunity. With Samsung's exclusive battery and a specially designed low-power circuitry, you can experience the benefits of greatly extended battery life. It is capable of taking up to 440 shots and 220 minutes according to Samsung camera's standard (continuous shooting every 30 seconds with the LCD on). Samsung recomms using batteries for a digital camera (within a year from the date of manufacture). As for the AA type alkaline battery, you can only use the high capacity type. Do not use the normal type alkaline battery.

Outstanding 15x Zoom
The Digimax V70 has a Schneider lens delivering sharp 3x optical zoom with a focusing distance of f=7.7 to 23.1mm (f=38-114mm when compared to a 35mm camera). When used in conjunction with the 5x digital zoom, it results in a 15x zoom capability.

Additionally, Samsung gives shooters the ability to capture more of a desired scene and fit it into the frame by including a high-quality 28mm wide-angle lens. Unlike a standard 35mm lens which is commonly found on compact digital cameras, the SL310W’s 28mm wide-angle lens gives you the ability to expand creativity, especially when shooting landscapes or groups of family or friends.

The SL310W offers a number of user-friendly features, including 11 scene modes, auto red-eye fix and MPEG-4 video recording. The camera also features Self Portrait, Face Detection, Blink Detection, and Smile Shot technology, all of which help enhance the digital imaging experience for the shooter.

Self Portrait mode is a unique function that takes the guessing out of taking a self portrait. When in Self Portrait mode, the SL310W automatically detects the user’s face, adjust focus and exposure, and will only allow a photo to be taken if the subject is centered in the frame. Face Detection technology makes taking pictures of family and friends a snap, as it detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality. Furthermore, Smile Shot automatically triggers the SL310W to take a photo only when the camera detects smiles on the subjects’ faces, and Blink Detection will prevent a photo from being taken if the camera recognizes that a subject’s eyes are closed.

For enhanced versatility, you can remove red-eye during image playback, or for even greater convenience, set the camera to Auto Red Eye Fix to automatically detect and eliminate red-eye from their images as they are taken.

The SL310W is also equipped with advanced movie modes. Featuring MPEG-4 video recording and in-camera editing controls, pause and then resume filming of video clips without having to save the clips as individual files. Additionally, you can operate the camera’s 28mm wide-angle optical zoom and engage OIS and DIS while recording to compensate for unwanted movement and to reduce blur.
